SUSTAINABLE
SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

Stakeholder pressures on fashion companies never have been so powerful, for a reason

I will support your BUSiness with the development and implementation of purposeful, responsible, and actionable sustainability strategies

Fashion companies can no longer run their business as usual. The current fashion system is broken, outdated and exhausts human and natural capital. The future fashion business model gains economic profit but

creates a force for positive impact on human and nature.

I will support your business to develop and implement a responsible supply chain strategy in accordance with global, regional, and local regulations, policies and guidelines including
ILO, OECD, UNGP, the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles and the German Supply Chain Act.
  • Legislation and policies: the directive of the European Commission requires corporate sustainability due diligence to address adverse effects on human rights and environment

  • Consumers: understanding  consumer culture, meet the zeitgeist as consumers scrutinize the current fashion system

  • Competition: competitiveness in the fashion industry will be redefined, forcing companies to grow by providing value to human and nature

  • NGOs and academia: act as watchdogs, provide  data and  evidence on adverse impacts of global value chains, disclose information and hold businesses accountable

I will collaborate and help your business to

  • anchor sustainability in the organizational culture and translate due diligence into policies

  • support and empower CSR initiatives

  • define, assess and monitor sustainability performance measures

  • implement social and environmental risk management strategies  (due diligence)

  • develop responsible supply chain strategies through compliance, collaboration, supplier development, and communication practices

  • deliver evidence-based, transparent, accountable and stakeholder oriented reports/communication

I am in continuous collaboration with key stakeholders, allowing me to adopt multifaceted perspectives and help your business to live up to the collective movement for a responsible fashion industry.

"Deniz brings the good and bad sides of supply chain sustainability issues in the fashion industry straight to the point, knowing both sides of the medal – procurement and the upstream supply chain actors."

Pia Pinkawa, Sustainable Supply Chain and Communication Expert (2022)

We started woking together in light of the World Sustainable Procurement Day (2022) on sustainable transformation of Fashion, in which he was a panelist. Deniz brings the good and bad sides of supply chain sustainability issues in the fashion industry straight to the point, knowing both sides of the medal – procurement and the upstream supply chain actors. His first hand research insights on the real conditions and his knowledge on buyer-supplier relationships are intriguing and critical, but help to change the perspectives and address social and environmental issues in the supply chain effectively. He’s an inspiring and exceptional speaker and I’m really looking forward to further collaborations with Deniz to drive together sustainable procurement practices forward."
